Custom carbon fibre hard case
specifically for Red Special style guitars
So you have your faithful replica of Brian May’s Red Special guitar, a pocket full of sixpences, treble booster and the amps / rig of your choice to get you as close as possible to Sir Brian’s setup.
However, the one thing missing from your collection is a hard case similar to that in which the original Red Special is transported in.
The problem is that the case for the original Red Special is a one-off, made by a tiny company which ceased to exist over 18 years ago. Yes, there are other ‘generic’ carbon fibre guitar cases out there, but it has been impossible to get anything even resembling the original carbon fibre case.
Until now….
Designed in the UK and taking inspiration from the original case, the YonderpodTM has been created specifically to fit ‘accurate’ replicas of the Red Special with the full-sized ‘thick’ neck1.
Using modern production methods and quality materials, the case features a hybrid carbon fibre shell, shaped foam lining and inserts, including neck support pads and a top body pad, and of course a distinctive “hump” to accommodate the tremolo arm and post, together with a stunning royal blue crushed velvet lining.
In keeping with the current hardware of the original case, five non-locking butterfly clasps and an interlocking rubber seal are used to secure the closure of the case, with a chunky microfibre leather handle placed in a nicely-balanced position to ease carrying.
Being custom-made to the dimensions of the Red Special, the overall case is much smaller than off-the-shelf generic cases, with the hybrid carbon fibre construction meaning it weighs in at less than 2.5kg, and will fit inside a gig bag for easy transportation.
But you don’t even need to worry about that, as each case is supplied with a Madarozzo Elegant G050 gig bag, of the same type used by Brian’s guitar custodian, Steve Prior, to transport the original Red Special to the UK Red Special Meetup in 2024.
Also in keeping with the original case it is based on, these cases do not have any “feet” fitted to the bottom or side of the case, to keep them as low-profile as possible and able to slip easily in and out of the gig bag without potentially damaging the interior.

The neck support is specifically designed for the thicker neck of an ‘accurate’ Red Special replica. Therefore to ensure a snug fit for guitars with a thinner neck such as the BMG Special, we can provide a free matching blue velvet pad to add additional ‘padding’ to the bottom neck support.

Deacy-style amplifiers
Like the original Red Special guitar, Brian May’s original Deacy amp and live-used replicas are stored and transported in custom-made cases, made by the same tiny company as the carbon fibre guitar case in the early 2000s.
The Yonderbox has been specifically designed to snugly fit an accurately-sized replica and offer suitable protection for what can be quite a fragile little amp.
Designed in the UK and taking inspiration from the dimensions and materials of the original cases, the YonderboxTM offers enthusiasts the opportunity to own an item which has the same look and feel as the one housing the original Deacy amp.
Using modern production methods and quality materials, the case features a fibreglass shell, shaped foam lining and inserts, including an area to store PP9 batteries or a mains-powered battery simulator and power supply.
In keeping with the current hardware of the original case, two locking clasps and an interlocking rubber seal are used to secure the closure of the case, with a check-strap, chunky microfibre leather handle and four feet on the bottom.
The Yonderbox is available in either black or red gelcoat, both with a red velvet interior.
